About Ethereum Classic

Ethereum Classic is the continuation of the original Ethereum blockchain following the 2016 DAO hack: rather than reversing the hack's transactions, this chain preserved its original, unaltered transaction history, while the new Ethereum (ETH) chain adopted the reversal. It continues to use Proof-of-Work mining.

MarketTherm validates each asset class independently before publishing statistics for it — that validation (a historical backtest with a train/test split, the same process described on the Methodology page) hasn't been run for this asset class yet. Every cryptocurrency also carries the Limited Data badge at launch, for the same reason: not enough history has accumulated yet.

How often is the Ethereum Classic (ETCUSD) Therm Score updated?+

The score is recalculated once a day, using the most recent closing data available from the crypto data provider.
